The 3 Sentence Icebreaker- Realizing Connections
The 3 Sentence Icebreaker is an excellent way to have your participants feel a connection to each other. Relationships are built on realizing common connections. This is an especially good icebreaker for a group of people that do not know each other, but can work within a single workplace as well.
Activity
As participants arrive, give each person a large sticky note. Have each person write a brief (three to four sentences) biography of themselves on the note and stick it to the wall. Notes should form a horizontal line.
Once everyone’s biography is up, have everyone read the bios. They should find something in common with at least three of them (or something that they find interesting), write that on the sticky note.
Debrief
To debrief, have everyone read their bio out loud and read the comments written below their bio. Discuss how communication can occur in many ways.
