Creating a Positive Work Environment QRG
Not all of us have had the opportunity to work in a truly encouraging and upbeat environment. A positive work environment is important for the productivity of a company, but it’s also important to us personally. Our emotional and physical health can be improved by working in a positive work environment. We should wake up each morning wanting to go to work — not trying to think of excuses to stay home. We want to be proud of where we work and enjoy telling others about our place of employment.
As an employee or a leader within a company you have a responsibility to create and maintain a positive work atmosphere. In fact, everyone in a workplace has an obligation to contribute to making this happen. Even if this is not a company-wide reality, you can seek to provide this type of environment for your department/division or those within your sphere of influence.
As Sept. 12 is the National Day of Encouragement and Sept. 13 is Positive Thinking Day, this is the perfect time to think about how to make your workplace more positive.
The National Day of Encouragement is dedicated to uplifting people around us and making a positive impact, and is intended for all of us to do something to offer encouragement to those around us, whether it is someone at work or in our personal lives. It can be observed by providing reassurance and inspiration to others. Let someone know they’ve done a good job, encourage a colleague to keep going toward a goal, remind someone that they’re important to you.
Celebrate Positive Thinking Day with showing gratitude for your co-workers, being kind, and smiling.
