A look around the Velsoft office reveals just what you’d expect: traditional work stations and chairs.

Except for two oddities tucked shamefully in the corner.

One is blue, the other purple.

These bent-wood yoga chairs are the relics of employees who requested them from management to aid their posture and ease backache. Management, in the interest of keeping employees healthy and happy, went out and bought two high-quality chairs.

The employees proceeded to use them, and complain about how uncomfortable they were.

They stuck with it though. Probably because, despite the fact they looked like hens sitting on eggs, they didn’t want to appear ungrateful.

In the interest of fairness and accuracy I decided to try one. I felt like a turkey. I probably looked like one too.

The chairs weren’t as uncomfortable as I expected but I don’t think I’d want to use one day after day. It kind of felt like I was perpetually in the act of rising from a sitting position. Regardless, I felt like a dork.

On a positive note, children that come to the office like playing with them.

They’ve also been put to some other ‘uses’ that they weren’t intended but I’m not going to get into that story.
